Connecting to Web Africa"s Live Chat Server This service enables customers to: - See which WA staff are online and get in touch immediately with the appropriate contact. - Receive announcements and broadcasts. - Participate in chat channels with other customers, resellers and WA Techs. You may use any Jabber enabled client to connect to our chat server, however we recommend using the Web Africa Messenger client: Download Please select the appropriate operating system from the links below: Windows - waMessenger_2_0_8.exe Linux - waMessenger_2_0_8.tar.gz Mac - waMessenger_2_0_8.dmg Install the client with default options (not applicable to linux version). Required Options: 1. Username: Your WebAfrica client code (eg: ABC01) 2. Password: Your Web Africa client password (The same as your Client Service Area password). 3. Server: chat.webafrica.co.za  Should you encounter any problems connecting please click on the advanced button and uncheck the “Automatically discover host and port” and enter the details below into the relevant fields. Host: chat.webafrica.co.za Port: 5222 Everything else can be left default.  Groups A group is a collection of users of similar roles The groups on this server consist of various Web Africa staff whom are here to provide secondary support within specific departments, for example there is a group for ADSL support; Billing; Hosting, etc Chat Rooms Once connected you will be able to join predefined chat rooms dealing with specific topics or services Web Africa provides. |
